You can see many of my fish here, including my Cambodian Butterly Betta Splendens (I think.) What I mean to say is his body is an amazing lavender with a red patch, and his fins are an amazing lavender with blue close at his ventral fin, lavender throughout, and red between the vanes.
WHAT, you are probably asking, is a FIGHTING FISH doing in a community tank?
I did my homework first. His tanksmates are platys, a recommended tankmate according to Hargrove's The Betta, neon tetras (also very peaceful and without tails to attract his attention) and a Chinese algae eater. He does his territorial display every so often, but no one's gotten nipped fins yet. My only wish: that I'd gotten a bigger tank. I need to give me away some youngsters!
