Well, I feel closer to getting married than before... Carterway and I are actually looking into neighborhoods, driving around and seeing what we can comfortably afford. We know we'd get loans up the wazoo if we wanted them, but we want NOT to take out the max... have a cushion, you know, in case (god forbid) of unforseen circumstances.
This of course, leads to the infamous "housewarming/wedding registry." Thank God we agree on most everything... and the few we don't, hey, I have no problem compromising. After all, both of us are going to have to live in this house. So, we're going with jewel and earthtones, mostly. Even though I'm not nuts about green, it's his favorite color, so the linens for the master bath we chose were ivory and green.
It's both a scary and exciting thought to be doing all this together -- but I can't wait till we're all set up. :)
